​The project was initiated by a group of professional historians from the "Stalingrad Battle" International Charity Foundation and created in close cooperation with Russian and British museums, archives and individual contributors.

The friendly relations of Volgograd and Coventry (which date back exactly to the 1940s) make up just a part of the exhibition. In Britain, the Stalingrad Victory was met with universal admiration, and Volgograd historians included in their project the information about all 307 British cities that had been raising funds to aid Stalingrad and its restoration, without omitting the input of such prominent ladies as Clementine Churchill and the Queen Mother.

The exhibition was first displayed in the New Museum of St. Albans, its organizer being the civic activist Graham Kentsley, whom Volgograd residents remember, among other things, as the honorary guest of the Coventry Day held in the anticipation of the 2018 World Cup matches.

On December 15, he also attended the exhibition's opening ceremony in Volgograd, where the guide making a tour for the first visitors was the President of the "Stalingrad Battle" Foundation himself – Dmitry Belov.

Let us remember that this far from being the first major project of the "Stalingrad Battle" Foundation. In 2018, its academicians prepared an exhibition "Stalingrad in the History of France", which was demonstrated, among other platforms, at the premises of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
