A report on Volgograd Post No. 1 will be shown in France
On November 14, 2025, Post No. 1 at the Fallen Fighters' Square in the hero city of Volgograd celebrated a significant anniversary: 60 years since the first schoolchildren stood guard at its Eternal Flame. It was on November 14, 1965, that students from 7th grade of School No. 9 (currently Gymnasium No. 3 of the Central District) marched to their posts from the hall of the Gorky Drama Theater, following a real soldier. They were not wearing their trademark uniform at that time, but carried training carbines instead.
To this day, schoolchildren from the hero-city of Volgograd stand an honorary vigil at the Eternal Flame in the Fallen Fighters' Square, and share their experience with the peers from Volgograd's partner-cities.
This year, foreign reporters decided to film a story about Volgograd Post No. 1. In mid-November 2025, a TF1-LCI filming crew from visited the Volgograd Region. The delegation was led by journalist Jérôme Garaud, whose productions about Russia are known for their balanced and objective coverage.
The reporters met with staff of the Volgograd Post No. 1 Municipal Institution of Extracurricular Education, prepared a coverage on its history and operations, and, of course, filmed the changing of the guards.
