During the session, its participants discussed the possibilities of youth participation in international dialogue and looked into the actions taken by Volgograd administration for the development of the city's international relations.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the director of the Institute of Historical and Legal Education Elena Bolotova emphasized the meaningful role that preserving genuine historical memory plays in building an international dialogue, as well as the need to appeal to common historical values as the uniting factors in Russia's interactions with the international community.

Head of the Regional relations division at the International and regional relations directorate of Volgograd Mayor's Office Aleksander Kiselev spoke about the development of our city's twinning relations and the "Volgograd – the capital of public diplomacy" concept, as first presented by the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrey Bocharov in May 2015, and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Russian Federation. Today, Volgograd youth is actively involved in this project, and there are multiple forms of participation: various forums, conferences and festivals, activities of the City itself aimed at the development of international cultural and humanitarian ties.

VSSPU Center of People's Diplomacy and the School of International Relations and Diplomacy of Volgograd Children and Youth Center both presented their own activities, and these reports were met with listeners' enthusiastic attention.

The session's participants discussed the opportunities for joint projects and emphasized the importance of getting young people involved in solving serious issues of international cooperation.
