​The event was organized by the International and regional relations directorate of Volgograd Mayor's Office, the Volgograd Children and Youth Center, and the People's Diplomacy Center of the Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University (VSSPU).

Over 100 people were invited to participate, including Russian and international university students from Volgograd and pupils from the city's municipal educational institutions.

The venue aimed to foster civic and patriotic values among students, introduce participants to the "Volgograd – Capital of Public Diplomacy" concept and the current state of the city's international relations, as well as demonstrate how young people themselves can get involved in people's diplomacy projects.

For instance, during the morning session, participants learned about the activities of the "School of International Relations and Diplomacy" at the Volgograd Children and Youth Center and the VSSPU People's Diplomacy Center. In the afternoon, they were invited to an open meeting of Volgograd Public Council's initiative group dedicated to promoting international and inter-municipal cooperation. There, they had the opportunity to ask questions to the initiative group's members who have extensive experience in the field, such as Yury Starovatykh, Chairman of the Board of the Volgograd Regional Branch of the "Russian Peace Foundation" International Public Foundation. To Tatyana Minina, Deputy of Volgograd City Duma and Director of the Volgograd Children and Youth Center; Dmitry Ovechkin, Executive Secretary of the Volgograd Regional Branch of the International Public Foundation "Russian Peace Foundation"; Alexander Bunin, Director of the International Charitable Foundation "Battle of Stalingrad"; and Margarita Belitskaya, Associate Professor at the Department of National History and Local History Education and Head of the People's Diplomacy Center at Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University (VSSPU).

Interactive competitions and quizzes were also organized on the grounds of the Children and Youth Center. Participants were invited to learn the basics of business protocol and etiquette in international relations, take part in a country-studies quiz, guess diplomatic terms based on drawings, practice heraldry using the coats of arms of Volgograd and its Russian partner cities, review national flags from around the world, and join in active games from various cultures. Additionally, schoolchildren and students tried their hand at Russian handicrafts and learned the moves for a dance flash mob, which took place at 4:00 PM.
