Volgograd and Minsk discussed the most important topics: memory and children

On May 26, 2026, a teleconference under the topic "Minsk and Volgograd – Heirs of Victory" was held in the "Stalingrad Battle" Panorama Museum. The event was dedicated to memory, family, and preservation of historic truth.

Among the participants from Volgograd side, there were:

- Deputy Chair of Volgograd City Council Gennady Kuznetsov,

- Chair of the City Council of Veterans Aleksander Strukov,

- Deputy Chief of Staff of the Volgograd branch of "Yunarmiya" Sergei Rogov,

- and Chair of the "Heritage" regional search organization Denis Solovyov.

Joining the discussion from the Belarusian side, there were:

- Member of the House of Representatives of Belarus Valery Drakon,

- Honored Coach and Afghanistan War Veteran Yevgeny Dobrotvorsky,

- Chair of the Supreme Council of the "For the Motherland" Party Andrei Ivanov,

- Member of the International Public Chamber Iosif Kruglikov,

- Olympic Champion and Board Member of the "Russia-Belarus" Friendship Society Aleksander Romankov.

The teleconference brought together veterans, military personnel, activists from patriotic associations, and, most importantly, students and schoolchildren from Volgograd and Minsk: students from the Post No. 1 Municipal Educational Institution, staff and students from the Victoria City Patriotic Center, and "Yunarmiya" members.

The event focused on raising children as true patriots, preserving the memory of the war, and conserving our traditions. The guests were also present for a screening of two short videos: one – about the Volgograd "Yunarmiya" movement and the other – about the work of the search teams from their "Naslediye" department.

At the end of the teleconference, the Volgograd residents invited their Belarusian colleagues to join them for a "Memory Watch" to search for the remnants of the still unidentified soldiers and give them proper burials.

The event was a vivid demonstration of the fact that the heirs of the Great Victory remember and honor the heroism of their ancestors and are determined to strengthen the relations between their cities and countries.
