The real source of the Pearl River is in Maxiong Mountain, Zhanyi District, Qujing. It is on the eastern Yunnan Guizhou Plateau, with an altitude of 2,158 meters. It has a special karst spring landscape and excellent water quality. The most famous view here is "one drop feeds three rivers", making it the ecological starting point of the whole Pearl River basin.

This land nurtures unique folk culture. Han, Yi, Miao, Zhuang and other ethnic groups have lived here for generations. They respect water very much and take the river source as their spiritual symbol, forming a rich and diverse water centered culture.

Local Yi and Zhuang people keep ancient rituals to worship springs, dragon ponds and water gods. They hold ceremonies at the source to pray for good weather and harvests. Water is the soul of local intangible heritage. We can see beautiful mountain river patterns in ethnic embroidery. Cuan calligraphy and stone inscriptions tell us to "drink water and remember its source". Folk songs and dances are all about the lovely mountains and rivers.

Local people live wisely with nature. They build stilt houses along rivers. Their farming, daily life and social activities all follow the natural rhythm of water. This is a balanced, healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

In short, the Pearl River Source is not only a geographical beginning, but also a cultural root. It carries respect for nature, love for water and the unity of all ethnic groups. Let us cherish the clear source, protect the ecology and pass on this beautiful culture forever.
