Hello everyone. My name is Dou Junrui. I am from Class 2401, Computer Network Technology Major. Today I want to share my memory with the Pearl River Source.

The Pearl River Source is in Qujing. It is on the eastern slope of Maxiong Mountain, 2158 meters high. It is the start of the Pearl River. The water comes out from a cave. The mountains are green and the air is fresh here. It feeds three big river systems.

There is a beautiful waterfall here—the First Waterfall of Pearl River Source. It is 6 meters high. Sometimes the water is strong, sometimes it is quiet and soft.

I visited the Pearl River Source when I was in junior high school. I saw clear water, green hills and fresh air. I was very proud of my hometown Qujing.

Recently I went there again. The mountains and water are still beautiful. The environment is much cleaner now. The Pearl River flows through Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. It is the mother river of southern China. It helps millions of people and makes the land rich. It also carries the history and culture of southern China for thousands of years.

Rivers give us life and beautiful culture. We must protect the clean water source. We should keep water clean and plant more trees.
